As we approach Spring 2022, a theme we have consistently noticed is the importance of being able to access and activate data quickly and easily. Poor data tooling and processes can make using data frustrating.
This month we’re happy to release several product updates that will make it easier for you to get value from your data. They focus on enabling you to get data into Indicative without support, automated event reordering for cleaner funnel analysis, and more.
See the details below, and don’t hesitate to send us a note if you have any questions.
Self-Service Setup for Snowflake as the Data Source
Last month, we introduced our Self-service Setup for Data Warehouses feature, with initial support for Google BigQuery. With this feature, our customers can walk through a self-guided workflow to load event data from their warehouse to Indicative without requiring any assistance or intervention from an Indicative Solutions Engineer. This new process significantly reduces the time required for your product managers and marketers to get started with self-service analysis and exploration.
We’ve now added Self-service Setup for Snowflake. Data teams can quickly import data from any Snowflake instance, regardless of the underlying cloud infrastructure it’s hosted on.
For more detailed information, please refer to our support documentation in the links below, based on your schema.
Flexible Conversion Order
Some customers are working with out-of-order events (per the event timestamp), resulting in misleading Funnel conversion results. This is especially common with batched data, or when combining server and client-side data. We have now launched a new Funnel setting which allows for more flexible conversion methodology.
For example, let’s say you’re a product manager for a mobile gaming company. A user’s mobile game events may appear out of order when they lose internet service, for example, while commuting on the subway. This leads to inaccurate reporting. With Flexible Conversion Order, you can specify a conversion window such as 5 minutes, 2 hours, or 1 day, and Indicative will automatically reorder events within that window range based on your funnel analysis steps, leading to more accurate results. Check out how to use Flexible Conversion Order.
Other Improvements
- Cohort CSV downloads now include breakouts.
- The query completion progress bars are now more accurate.
- Dashboard annotation widgets will only display annotations that are relevant to the events used in that dashboard.
What’s next?
We’re working on making the integration between Indicative and mParticle even more seamless! Plus, Amazon Redshift support for Self-Service Data Warehouse Setup.
