MultiValue Database Defined
A MultiValue Database or MVD, is a database that incorporates the features of a multidimensional and NoSQL database to store information.
A MVD has a tubular structure as the basis of its architecture, allowing for the data to be seen and understood from many dimensions and perspectives. Like a relational database, MVD organizes its data through schemas and tables.  However, a relational database stores just one fact within a table cell, multivalue databases can store multiple values within that cell, as well as allowing multiple values for attributes.
One of the main benefits of using a MVD over other databases, is that it can provide flexibility for dealing with complex data structures and efficient data access for some data structures.
Some of the most common multivalue databases include: Adabas, UniData,UniVerse, jBASE
