Scrum Defined

Scrum is a software development framework for managing complex work. This framework challenges the traditional, sequential approach to product development by allowing teams to self-organize. Scrum does through an empirical approach that requires teams to accept that a problem cannot be fully understood or defined up front, so teams must focus on how to deliver results quickly, respond to new requirements, and adapt to changes. A key differentiator of scrum is the idea that customers will change their minds and teams must be ready to handle those unpredictable changes. Smaller teams may find the scrum approach useful in that they can break down tasks into shorter time frames, called sprints.
