Segment.io Defined

Segment.io is a customer data infrastructure (CDI) platform that collects, stores and routes data from users to hundreds of tools and digital properties. 

Sement.io works by collecting and connecting data from other tools and aggregating the data to monitor performance, inform decision-making processes, and create uniquely customized user experiences.

This is conducted through the generation and the sending of messages to Segments.io API in a JSON format. The API will then translate the data into the required format for the integration and warehouse that have been added into a users Segment.io.

By doing this, it helps in keeping the most important parts of your data consistent, while allowing great flexibility in what other information a users collects.
